Ladygagu of Joyworks and Co. announced on the 26th that the initial production volume of all models of the two Ondam (溫澹) Heuk Sofa products in its heated furniture line has sold out. The Ondam line was launched with two Ondam Heuk Sofas, Jeongon and Haeon, and one Ondam Heuk Bed, Yeonon.
The Ondam Heuk Sofa is a premium product that combines natural soil materials with a heating function, designed with both spatial aesthetics and practicality in mind. By applying domestically produced, zero-magnetic-field heating wires and various materials, the company improved electrical efficiency while also securing safety by meeting the electromagnetic wave standards of the Korea Certification (KC), the national integrated certification system.
The company explained that this sell-out shows that the consumer trend of prioritizing health and rest is spreading into the furniture market. It plans to accelerate the expansion of the Ondam lineup and its push into the wellness furniture market.
A company representative said, “The initial production volume sold out early after receiving strong interest from the launch stage,” adding, “We will continue to strengthen our brand competitiveness by developing and launching differentiated functional furniture, and we will capture growing wellness demand.”
Meanwhile, Joyworks and Co. signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Daejin University on the 10th for the development of universal smart furniture to prevent safety accidents among the elderly. The two parties plan to conduct joint research to link an Internet of Things (IoT)-based fall detection system with furniture, and they also plan to establish a “Gerontechnology Furniture Lab” within this month.
