Four Pianists Pay Musical Tribute to the Founder Chairman
Chung Euisun, chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, stated at a memorial concert marking the 25th anniversary of the passing of the late founding chairman Chung Juyung of Hyundai Motor Group that he would carry on the founder's spirit of "innovation for people."

In his eulogy at the memorial concert held on the afternoon of the 25th at the Concert Hall of the Seoul Arts Center, Chairman Chung said, "All of the founding chairman's convictions and every challenge began with people," adding, "He believed in the potential of people and achieved innovation for people. We will inherit that spirit and create a better future."
He went on to say, "Although 25 years have passed, at a time when we are facing many difficulties and challenges both at home and abroad, that resonance reaches me and all of us even more deeply and teaches us much wisdom," adding, "We prepared this memorial concert to honor the profound 'resonance' that my grandfather left behind."
The memorial concert brought together members of the broader Hyundai family, including Chung Mongjoon, chairman of the Asan Foundation and sixth son of the founding chairman Chung Juyung, Chung Kisun, chairman of HD Hyundai, and Chung Taeyoung, vice chairman of Hyundai Card. Meeting with reporters at the venue, Chairman Chung Mongjoon said, "Thank you for coming. My father would also be grateful that you are here."
From the business community, attendees included Lotte Group chairman Shin Dongbin, Hong Rahee, honorary director of the Samsung Museum of Art Leeum, and Samsung C&T president Lee Seo-hyun. From the political sphere, National Assembly Speaker Woo Wonshik and People Power Party lawmakers Kwon Youngse and Na Kyungwon, among many others, were also in attendance. First lady Kim Hye-kyung, wife of President Lee Jaemyung, also came to the concert hall.
World-renowned pianists such as Kim Sunwook, Sunwoo Yekwon, Cho Seongjin, and Lim Yunchan provided the highlight of the recital. Through masterpieces by great composers including Schubert, they commemorated the life and spirit of the founding chairman Chung Juyung, who lived for people. Even those who had not received invitations to the concert gathered in front of televisions set up outside the venue to enjoy the performances of the world-class pianists.

This memorial event was held for invited guests only, without paid ticket sales, in order to honor its original purpose and meaning.
