"Top Employment Rate"... Mokpo National University Celebrates the Glorious Graduation of 1,177 Students

Mokpo National University announced on the 25th that it successfully held the 2025 Spring Degree Conferment Ceremony on the first-floor auditorium of the university gymnasium on the 24th.

The ceremony was attended by President Song Hacheol; former 6th President Ko Seokgyu; Alumni Association President Park Moonok (Chair of the Operation Committee of the Jeonnam Provincial Council); Kim Hwajin, Chair of the People Power Party Jeonnam Provincial Chapter; Acting Mayor of Mokpo Cho Seokhoon; Chair of the Mokpo City Council Cho Seongo; and other key local dignitaries, along with graduates and their families, totaling around 800 participants who celebrated the new beginning.

Through this degree conferment ceremony, a total of 1,177 talented individuals earned their prestigious degrees, including 1,016 bachelor’s degree recipients, 118 master’s degree recipients, and 43 doctoral degree recipients. The event proceeded in the following order: national ceremony, academic report, congratulatory remarks by the president, congratulatory messages by guests, address by the representative of the graduating class, conferment of degrees, and awards.

At the awards ceremony, various prizes were presented to graduates who achieved outstanding academic performance and contributed to the development of the university, including the President’s Award (Outstanding Talent Certification, Academic Excellence Award, Meritorious Service Award, and Volunteer Service Award), as well as the Alumni Association President’s Award, National Assembly Member’s Award, Mokpo Mayor’s Award, and Mokpo City Council Chair’s Award.

In his congratulatory remarks, President Song Hacheol said, “Today, we are sending 1,177 confident and capable graduates out into the world,” and encouraged them by adding, “I hope you will carry with you the pride of being a graduate of Mokpo National University and boldly pioneer your future wherever you may be.”

He continued, “Earning an S grade in the annual evaluation of the Glocal University initiative and achieving the highest employment rate among national universities across the country are accomplishments that demonstrate our university’s competitiveness,” adding, “Your alma mater will always be a strong pillar of support for all of you.”

Meanwhile, Mokpo National University is scheduled to merge with Jeonnam Provincial College on March 1 and make a fresh start as an integrated regional hub university representing the area.
