CEO Na joins "Raising Awareness of Youth Gambling Prevention"
Youth gambling emerging as a major social issue
Na Chaebum, CEO of Hanwha General Insurance, has joined the "Relay Campaign to Eradicate Illegal Gambling Among Youth" organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.
Na Chaebum, CEO of Hanwha General Insurance, joined the "Eradicating Illegal Gambling Among Youth" relay campaign organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on the 25th and posed for a commemorative photo.
On the 25th, CEO Na said, "Illegal gambling among youth is not just an individual deviation but an issue that the entire society must work together to prevent and address," adding, "We will continue to contribute to building a prevention-centered social safety net to protect future generations."
This campaign is being conducted in a relay format under the slogan, "Illegal online gambling targeting youth is a scam crime that you can never win," in order to raise awareness of the seriousness of illegal gambling among adolescents. CEO Na took part after being nominated by Lee Munhwa, CEO of Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, and he nominated Kim Junghyun, CEO of Meritz Fire & Marine Insurance, as the next participant.
Recently, illegal gambling among youth has been spreading rapidly, mainly through online and mobile environments. As accessibility in everyday life has increased, social concerns are also growing over youths' exposure to gambling and the risk of addiction. In response, Hanwha General Insurance has joined efforts to improve awareness of prevention, with the aim of faithfully fulfilling the role of "social risk management," which is the essence of the insurance business.
In addition to the campaign to eradicate illegal gambling, Hanwha General Insurance has been continuously carrying out social contribution activities for youth. By launching special riders such as "Expanded Coverage for Critical Illnesses for Five Years After Childbirth" and "Childbirth Support Fund," it was selected as an exemplary institution for promoting mutual growth and cooperation for the first time in the non-life insurance industry. Earlier this year, the company also actively responded to the low birth rate issue by adding a "Pregnancy Support Fund" rider to "Hanwha Signature Women’s Health Insurance 4.0."
