Opening of the No. 2 National Sports Center
Sangju City in North Gyeongsang Province held an opening ceremony on the 23rd at the Sangju No. 2 National Sports Center, with about 200 people in attendance, including the Mayor of Sangju, the Chairperson of the Sangju City Council, invited guests, and local residents.
The Sangju No. 2 National Sports Center construction project, which was promoted over five years starting with its selection as a Living SOC Complex Project in 2019, has been built at 59-72, Gyesan 3-gil, Sangju City. It is a complex community sports facility created to meet local residents' diverse sports and leisure needs, and is equipped with various sports facilities such as a swimming pool and an indoor gymnasium. It is expected to serve as a citizen-friendly sports space that can be used by people of all ages.
The opening ceremony was an occasion for representatives of local institutions and organizations and citizens to come together and share the significance of the opening.
Mayor Kang Youngseok of Sangju City said, "Going forward, Sangju City will continue to make efforts to expand community sports infrastructure to improve citizens' quality of life and to build a healthy city."
