[Breaking] Wildfire in Toseong-myeon, Goseong, Gangwon... Evacuation Order for Nearby Resort Residents

At around 7:22 p.m. on the 22nd, a wildfire broke out near a resort in Sinpyeong-ri, Toseong-myeon, Goseong-gun, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province.

When the fire started, fire authorities issued Response Level 1 at around 7:34 p.m. the same day and then raised it to Response Level 2 at 8:32 p.m.

It is reported that tourists staying at nearby resorts and lodging facilities where the wildfire has occurred are currently evacuating.

Forestry authorities are investigating the exact cause of the wildfire and the extent of the damage.

Meanwhile, both strong wind advisories and dry weather advisories are in effect for the Yeongdong region of Gangwon.
