Police Estimate Total Losses to Reach Several Billions of Won
The owner of a jewelry shop who fled after taking more than 3,000 don of gold entrusted by customers has voluntarily turned himself in.

According to Yonhap News and the Hyehwa Police Station in Seoul on the 21st, the police apprehended Mr. A, who is suspected of fraud, on the morning of the same day and are questioning him. Mr. A is accused of fleeing on the afternoon of the 12th after taking cash that customers had sent in advance, asking him to purchase gold products and gold bars on their behalf or to have their gold items crafted.
The police have received multiple complaints claiming damages from Mr. A. The total damage is estimated to amount to several billion won. The police are investigating Mr. A to determine the exact circumstances and the full extent of the losses.
