The special lecture was originally scheduled to be held in the artificial intelligence classroom, but due to high interest from users, the venue was changed, reflecting the strong response.
A total of about 170 people took part in the two sessions, filling the seats.
On the first day, Kim Kangcheon, a camera director from the KBS Jeonju Video Production Department, volunteered as an instructor and delivered a special lecture on career paths for teenagers.
With 20 years of experience, Director Kim shared vivid real-world cases from video editing sites that utilize artificial intelligence.
In particular, he specifically introduced how generative artificial intelligence is transforming the broadcasting production environment, providing 85 teenagers with practical opportunities to explore future careers.
On the 11th, an advanced lecture on "Video Editing Using Artificial Intelligence" was held for 90 adults. It covered professional topics such as practical applications of generative AI-based video production tools and methods for writing prompts, thereby enhancing participants' practical utilization skills.
As requests for hands-on classes have continued even after the training, the library will sequentially operate an educational program focused on generative AI utilization and video editing practice from May to December.
The practical course will be systematically structured from basic understanding of artificial intelligence, to prompt-writing methods, to application in video production, so that both teenagers and adults can participate.
Following this series of lectures, the ripple effect has also been visible, with national institutions in the region such as LX Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation, Korea Rural Community Corporation, and the Publication Industry Promotion Agency of Korea making inquiries about cooperation for lectures. This is being evaluated as an example that demonstrates Kongjipatjwi Library is leading digital education as a regional hub science library.
The head of Kongjipatjwi Library said, "Through practice-oriented artificial intelligence education, we will support residents so that they can respond proactively to the changing digital environment," adding, "We will continue to expand special lectures by inviting experts in cutting-edge science fields, thereby leading the enhancement of future capabilities for local teenagers and residents."
Meanwhile, during the first half of the year, Kongjipatjwi Library plans to hold additional career special lectures for teenagers by inviting a Ph.D. in autonomous driving and robotics and a neurosurgeon, and will continue to create opportunities for communication with leading authorities in the field of science.
