Application period runs until Wednesday, February 25... Participation in the torch relay route held in Changnyeong-gun on April 17
Changnyeong-gun in South Gyeongsang Province is openly recruiting 101 torchbearers who will splendidly mark the beginning of the “65th Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Sports Festival,” which will be held from April 17 to 20.
The torch relay is a symbolic ceremony that announces the start of the festival. Through the flame of the torch, it serves to unite the capabilities of county residents, bring together the people of South Gyeongsang Province, and pray for the successful hosting of the event.
In particular, this relay will tour the entire county, with residents directly participating to heighten local pride and inject vitality into the festival.
Any resident who has their resident registration or registered domicile in Changnyeong-gun and is interested in the provincial sports festival can apply. Those finally selected as torchbearers will personally take part in the torch relay route that will be held throughout Changnyeong-gun on April 17.
The application period runs until the 25th, and residents who wish to participate must bring their ID card and visit the eup or myeon community service center for their address to apply.
The county will comprehensively review symbolism and diversity by selecting individuals who embody the image and representativeness of the region, so that men and women of all ages and residents active in various fields in each eup and myeon can participate evenly. The final selection results will be notified individually.
An official from Changnyeong-gun said, “The torch relay is a meaningful event that announces the start of the provincial sports festival, and we hope it will become an opportunity for many residents to participate and share in the significance of the event.”
