Home screen videos not displaying
On the last day of the Lunar New Year holiday, on the 18th, a temporary outage occurred on YouTube's mobile and web services, causing inconvenience for users.
According to the information technology (IT) industry, at around 10:00 a.m. that day, a message saying "An error occurred" appeared on YouTube's mobile and web services, and the service was not available. Service has since been restored.
Google, which operates YouTube, said in a statement, "An error occurred in which the home screen and other features did not function properly," adding, "We apologize for the inconvenience."
It went on to explain, "A temporary service outage occurred for some users only," and "We have resolved the issue, and the service is now back to normal."
In the statement, Google did not mention the specific cause of the error.
