2026 Business Goal: "Strong Busan Veterans Association"
Pledge to Defend National Security and the Values of Liberal Democracy
The Busan Veterans Association held its 2026 regular general meeting and security resolution rally on February 12 at the Busan Sports for All Culture Center (small theater of the Olympic Memorial National Sports Center), and presented the future direction and role of the association.
The event was attended by the President of the Korea Veterans Association, the Busan Vice Mayor for Future Innovation, the head of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, officials from the police and the military, city council members, and many other distinguished guests.
At the regular general meeting, the 2025 project budget settlement and the 2026 project plan were reported and approved. The Busan Veterans Association presented as its 2026 business goal a "strong Busan Veterans Association that leaps forward into the future and into the lives of citizens," and set as its core values a visible association, a trusted association, and an influential association. Through this, it expressed its determination to grow into a leading security organization that practices the values of national security and veterans affairs within the local community and among citizens.
During the commemorative ceremony, a video was shown highlighting the Korea Veterans Association's achievements in change and innovation over the past four years. The video covered topics such as organizational innovation, expanded member participation, restoration of public trust, and strengthened community service and security activities, resonating with the attendees. Participants confirmed that the association is evolving beyond its past role into an organization that connects national security and social integration in line with the changing times.
At the event, various awards were presented to members and organizations that contributed to the development of the association, regional security, and veterans affairs activities, including commendations from the President of the Korea Veterans Association, the Mayor of Busan, the Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, and the Commissioner General of the Korean National Police Agency. The awardees were recognized for enhancing the stature of the Busan Veterans Association through community volunteer work, support for war veterans, promotion of security awareness, and activities of the women's association and youth groups.
At the security resolution rally, all participants sang the association's song and chanted slogans, reaffirming their commitment to defending national security and the values of liberal democracy. In particular, the "We are the one!" slogan performance symbolically demonstrated the unity and solidarity of the Busan Veterans Association and heightened the atmosphere on site.
During the commemorative ceremony, a congratulatory performance by the Harmony Saxophone Ensemble was held, creating a venue of harmony where culture and emotion blended within a solemn setting. The performance of "Cheonnyeonjigi" symbolized long-standing relationships and trust, musically expressing the bonds among members and generational integration, and received great applause.
Park Donggil, President of the Busan Veterans Association, said, "We will steadfastly carry on the mission of the Veterans Association as the second bulwark of national security and further develop into a security community that stands together with citizens."
This regular general meeting and security resolution rally is evaluated as an occasion that reaffirmed the identity and future vision of the Busan Veterans Association and clarified its role as a security organization working together with the local community.
