Previously, at around 5:20 p.m. on March 29, 2025, during a professional baseball game, a structure installed on the exterior wall near the concession stand on the third-base side of NC Park fell from a height of 17.5 meters.
In the accident, three women who were standing in line in front of the concession stand were injured, and among them, a woman in her 20s, referred to as Ms. A, suffered severe head and other injuries, was taken to a hospital for treatment, and died two days later.
The fallen structure was identified as a "louver," an aluminum exterior finishing material, measuring 2.6 meters in length, 40 centimeters in width, and weighing approximately 33.94 kilograms.
At the location where the accident occurred, repair work had been carried out in December 2022 due to broken window glass, and during this process, the window contractor temporarily removed the louver and then reattached it.
The Gyeongsangnam-do Accident Investigation Committee announced the results of its investigation into the fatal accident at Changwon NC Park at the provincial government press center that day, stating, "We have determined that the accident occurred due to a combination of structural defects in the upper fastener connection of the louver and inadequate management throughout the entire process, including design, ordering, construction, and maintenance."
The NC Dinos stated that they would not issue a separate official statement regarding the announcement of the investigation results by the Accident Investigation Committee.
