Comprehensive Medical Measures During Holiday Period
Operation of Public Health Center Rapid Response Team
Aiming to Minimize Gaps in Medical Care
Sangju Public Health Center in North Gyeongsang Province will implement comprehensive medical measures from February 14 to 18, during the Lunar New Year holiday, to minimize inconvenience in using medical services for returning visitors and residents. The center plans to maintain a cooperative system with local medical resources and operate an emergency response system to ensure the stable provision of medical services.
During the holiday, Sangju Red Cross Hospital and Sangju St. Mary’s Hospital will operate 24-hour emergency rooms, and 57 clinics and hospitals and 43 pharmacies (including 3 late-night pharmacies) in the city will participate to improve access to medical care. In addition, the public health center will operate an emergency treatment situation room during the holiday period, and on Lunar New Year’s Day, February 17, it will provide medical services at the health center to minimize any gaps in care.
Medical institutions and pharmacies that will be open during the Lunar New Year holiday can be checked through notices, the Ministry of Health and Welfare call center (129), the websites of the public health center and the National Emergency Medical Center, and the Eung-geup Ddokddok app. The city also plans to provide medical information to residents through both online and offline publicity.
In addition, to prepare for accidents involving multiple casualties, the public health center will operate a rapid response team and activate an emergency quarantine system, with plans to respond preemptively to emergencies and infectious disease outbreaks during the holiday period.
Lee Gunhee, head of the public health center, said, "During the Lunar New Year holiday, we will do our utmost in the emergency treatment system and quarantine response so that residents and returning visitors can use medical services with peace of mind," adding, "We will strengthen our cooperative system with medical institutions so that we can respond quickly in the event of an emergency."
