Showcasing Advanced Technologies Shaped by AI
Global semiconductor companies are gathering in Seoul to seek new business opportunities and set the direction for technological innovation.
The global industry association Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI) announced on the 9th that it will host South Korea's largest semiconductor exhibition, "Semicon Korea 2026," at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, for three days from the 11th to the 13th.

This year's event will be the largest ever, expanding exhibition space beyond the entire COEX venue to The Westin Seoul Chosun Parnas and Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas.
This year, 550 domestic and overseas semiconductor materials and equipment companies will showcase advanced semiconductor manufacturing technologies and solutions across 2,409 booths.
A large number of chipmakers and major semiconductor materials, components, and equipment companies that are driving the supercycle will take part, including Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, as well as Nvidia, Intel, Kioxia, Micron, Sony, ASML, Applied Materials (AMAT), Lam Research, Tokyo Electron (TEL), and KLA.
The theme of this year's Semicon Korea is "Transform Tomorrow," presenting advanced technologies and collaboration platforms that will reshape the future amid a new industrial paradigm triggered by AI.
More than 30 conferences will be held during the event period, featuring over 200 semiconductor experts as speakers sharing the latest semiconductor technologies and market trends. An AI Summit, newly co-organized with the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), will also be launched.
Six speakers will deliver keynote addresses on the opening day. The first keynote will be given by President Song Jae-hyuk, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the Device Solutions (DS) Division at Samsung Electronics, on the topic of "Next-Generation AI System Architecture."
Other speakers include Tien Wu, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ASE; Boyd Phelps, Senior Vice President at Cadence; Tim Archer, CEO of Lam Research; Lee Sunghoon, Executive Vice President at SK Hynix; and Timothy Costa, General Manager (GM) of Industrial and Computing Engineering at Nvidia.
At the purchasing consultation sessions designed to support the global expansion of domestic materials, components, and equipment companies, Intel, Kioxia, Lam Research, Micron, and Sony will participate in business meetings with Korean firms.
A SEMI representative said, "It is more important than ever to break down the barriers between processes and technologies and to build joint roadmaps among partners," adding, "We hope that Semicon Korea will serve as a catalyst for expanding new partnerships and accelerating both corporate competitiveness and innovation across the entire industry."
At the "Semicon Korea Leadership Dinner" held on the opening day, Song, who also serves as Chairman of the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association, will deliver a welcome address, and around 500 industry leaders and executives will gather to share insights on the semiconductor industry.
