Supporting Holiday Driving with 16 Types of Maintenance Coupons
AXA Direct General Insurance announced on February 10 that during the Lunar New Year holiday, it will provide a temporary driver special clause, an emergency roadside assistance special clause, 16 types of maintenance coupons, and a winter safe vehicle care service through its "AXA Direct Auto Insurance".
According to the Korea Insurance Development Institute and the General Insurance Association of Korea, during the Lunar New Year holidays from 2022 to 2024, auto insurance bodily injury accidents occurred most frequently on the day before the holiday. During this period, the total number of accidents averaged 12,052 per day, which was 13.6% higher than on normal days. The accident rate was also 17.8%, 2.3 percentage points higher than on normal days.
In such periods, it is important to prevent breakdowns and accidents by checking the vehicle, including tires, batteries, and oil. Since there are many cases of taking turns driving with family members and acquaintances, it is necessary to check the special clauses in the auto insurance policy in advance and set the scope of drivers.
The temporary driver special clause in AXA Direct Auto Insurance is designed to allow policyholders to designate the scope of drivers according to their situation, including spouses, family members and siblings, and one specified individual, making it useful during holidays when relay driving is frequent.
The subscription period can be freely set from 1 day to a maximum of 30 days, and accidents that occur while a third party, such as a designated driver, is driving are also covered, within the scope defined in the policy terms and conditions.
To support advance inspections, AXA Direct General Insurance provides 16 types of maintenance coupons to auto insurance policyholders. For engine oil inspection and replacement, it offers a discount benefit twice a year, while air conditioner and heater filter replacement is discounted by 30%, and labor costs are discounted by 10%. Wipers are discounted by 50% for domestic cars and 30% for imported cars.
AXA Direct General Insurance is also operating a "Winter Safe Vehicle Care Service" until February 28. Through this service, auto insurance policyholders can check essential winter inspection items in advance, such as tire air pressure and wear, battery condition, and various oils.
In addition, through the emergency roadside assistance special clause, the company provides seven types of emergency roadside assistance services, including emergency towing service, battery charging service, and flat tire repair service.
