Tailored IP Consulting for the Western Gyeongbuk Region
Full-Scale Customized Support Launched, from Patents to Brands
The Gyeongbuk Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman Yoon Jaeho) and the Gyeongbuk Western Intellectual Property Center have announced the 2026 "Emergency Intellectual Property Support" program and have begun full-scale support.
The "Emergency Intellectual Property Support" program is a customized consulting initiative that provides on-demand counseling on various intellectual property difficulties arising in the day-to-day management of local small and medium-sized enterprises.
In particular, last year Dotap [THE TOP (CEO Kim Seongdal, Seongju)] received support for brand naming and marketing consulting aimed at expanding into new markets such as leisure and construction, moving beyond simple fabric manufacturing confined to the domestic market. As a result, its sales increased by 31.5% year-on-year and employment also rose by 50%. The company also successfully expanded direct exports to the United States and entered Japan's Rakuten marketplace, making it one of the flagship success stories of this program in terms of global market entry.
Detailed support includes patent mapping, production of promotional videos for patented technologies, design development (such as product design and packaging design), brand development (new brands and renewed brands), and financial support for domestic and overseas application costs.
The program targets small and medium-sized enterprises located in Gumi, Gimcheon, Sangju, Goryeong, Seongju, and Chilgok. Companies within this jurisdiction can apply for the program through the Gyeongbuk Western Intellectual Property Center.
The application deadline for the first round of beneficiary companies under the 2026 "Emergency Intellectual Property Support" program is Friday, February 27, 2026. Applications and inquiries can be made via the Regional Intellectual Property Center website or directly to the Gyeongbuk Western Intellectual Property Center.
