Fire doors are facilities that block the spread of flames and toxic gases in the event of a fire, and if they are kept open under normal circumstances, there is a high risk of casualties due to the rapid spread of smoke during a fire.

In response, the Senior Fire Safety Support Team focused on promoting the following: closing fire doors and evacuating in the event of a fire in multi-family housing; prohibiting the storage of obstacles around fire doors; and keeping and managing fire doors in a closed state at all times under normal conditions.

In addition, the Senior Fire Safety Support Team discussed safety management measures through a fire prevention meeting for multi-family housing, and strengthened not only fire prevention activities but also individual capabilities to respond quickly in emergencies by participating in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training and practice at the Fire Safety Experience Center.

Gumi Fire Chief Cho Yuhyeon said, "The small act of always keeping fire doors closed becomes a decisive action that protects the lives of family and neighbors in the event of a fire," adding, "Gumi Fire Station will do its best to ensure that a safety culture of closing fire doors takes root in everyday life through continuous guidance, education, and public awareness activities."
