During the holiday period, the Goseong County Public Health Center will operate an emergency medical response situation room so that residents can conveniently use medical institutions. Local hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies will participate in emergency medical services, and Gang Hospital and The Joeun Hospital will operate 24-hour emergency rooms to provide care for emergency patients.

To monitor emergency treatment and emergency medical situations, a total of 49 institutions will participate in the emergency medical care system, including 1 local emergency medical institution, 1 emergency medical facility, 3 public health institutions, 27 hospitals and clinics, and 17 pharmacies, with the aim of minimizing inconvenience when ordinary patients use hospitals and clinics or purchase medicines.

During the Lunar New Year holiday, 46 hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies will participate in emergency medical and on-call services, each operating on designated dates. In addition, 3 public health sub-centers will operate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Lunar New Year’s Day itself, when the number of operating medical institutions is the lowest.

Furthermore, during the holiday period the county public health center will organize a rapid response team so that, in the event of a mass-casualty incident, it can respond swiftly by linking communication networks with the provincial government and the regional emergency information center situation room. When necessary, it will support the selection of hospitals for severe emergency patients and coordination of inter-hospital transfers, and it is also prepared to provide on-site emergency medical support, including dispatching the disaster medical assistance team (DMAT) of the designated disaster base hospital to set up an on-site emergency medical station.

Information on hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies that are open during the Lunar New Year holiday can be obtained by calling 129 (Ministry of Health and Welfare Call Center), 119 (Emergency Situation Management Center), or 120 (Provincial Call Center).

In addition, information on medical institutions and pharmacies that are open during the Lunar New Year holiday in Goseong County can also be checked through the Emergency Medical Portal, the Emergency Medical Information mobile app, the Goseong County Band (social media), and the Goseong County Office website.

Public Health Center Director Lee Eulhee said, “To mark the Lunar New Year holiday, we are doing our utmost to operate an emergency medical care system so that both residents and visitors returning home can enjoy a healthy and safe holiday,” adding, “We will strengthen cooperation among the public health center, medical institutions, and pharmacies to prevent any gaps in medical services and to minimize inconvenience for residents.”
