Purchasing 560 Million Won Worth of Local Specialty Products

Yeongam County in South Jeolla Province announced on February 2 that HD Hyundai Samho has taken the initiative to foster regional co-prosperity by purchasing local agricultural and specialty products worth 560 million won through the online platform 'Yeongam Mall' ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
According to the county, HD Hyundai Samho purchased a wide range of agricultural, marine, and livestock products representing Yeongam as gifts for the holiday, including two types of fruit sets, semi-dried persimmons (Daebong Bangeonshi), premium Korean beef mixed sets, Korean beef barbecue and bulgogi sets, duck sets, pork belly barbecue, and pre-grilled eel.
By selecting products from local farms and processing and distribution companies for holiday gifts, the company is credited with injecting tangible vitality into the local economy ahead of the Lunar New Year. The county expects that this large-scale purchase will provide stable sales channels for farms and related businesses, and further stimulate holiday consumption.
HD Hyundai Samho has consistently purchased local agricultural and specialty products even before this Lunar New Year. Last year, including the Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays, the winter season, and Family Month, the company purchased a total of 1.16683 billion won worth of local agricultural and specialty products over four occasions.
The county regards this as an example of a large corporation rooted in the region practicing a model of co-prosperity and mutual growth with the local community.
Additionally, HD Hyundai Samho continues its social contribution activities in the field of local welfare. On the 22nd of this month, the company sponsored the purchase of the 'Gichan Laundry Room No. 2,' a mobile laundry vehicle, to support senior-friendly enterprises and social enterprises operated by the Yeongam Senior Club.
The Gichan Laundry Room No. 2 will be used to travel around various villages in the county, providing free laundry services for bedding and clothing to seniors, including those in vulnerable groups.
The county considers HD Hyundai Samho's purchases of agricultural and specialty products and donation activities as exemplary cases of corporate social responsibility that have a positive impact on agriculture, welfare, and the overall local economy.
Han Jaejin, Head of Corporate Support, stated, "HD Hyundai Samho is invigorating the local economy through consistent purchases of agricultural and specialty products throughout the year, not just during holidays," adding, "We will continue to expand cooperative models that create mutual benefits for both the company and the region going forward."
