Site Inspection Ahead of Year-End Completion of the Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex
Park Seungwon, Mayor of Gwangmyeong City in Gyeonggi Province, has reaffirmed his commitment to making the 2.45 million square meter 'Gwangmyeong-Siheung Technovalley' the city's future growth hub.

On February 2, Mayor Park visited the construction site of the Gwangmyeong-Siheung Technovalley in the Gahak-dong area to check on the progress of the project and called for its prompt and seamless execution.
Mayor Park stated, "Gwangmyeong-Siheung Technovalley is a large-scale future growth hub expected to create about 30,000 jobs and generate approximately 2.3 trillion won in production inducement effects," adding, "Please proceed with the construction without setbacks to create a new growth engine for the city." He also emphasized, "The city will spare no administrative support to ensure this."
Gwangmyeong-Siheung Technovalley is a large-scale industrial complex under development, covering a total area of 2.45 million square meters across Gahak-dong in Gwangmyeong and Mujinae-dong and Nongok-dong in Siheung. The project is being carried out by Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) and Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Development Corporation (GH).
The development is divided into four projects: a general industrial complex (970,000 square meters), a distribution complex (290,000 square meters), an urban high-tech industrial complex (490,000 square meters), and the Hakon public housing district (680,000 square meters). Among these, the urban high-tech industrial complex is scheduled for completion by the end of this year.
This area is highly regarded for its excellent transportation accessibility, as it is close to Seoul and the new Hakon Station on the Shinansan Line is planned to be established within the district.
Mayor Park stressed, "Along with the swift progress of the project, the safety of on-site workers and citizens must be the top priority."
