Blue House: "Cost-Saving Measures Led to Return of 740 Million Won in Special Activity Funds Last Year"

The Blue House announced on February 2 that it returned 740 million won of last year's special activity budget to the national treasury, out of a total budget of 4.13 billion won, by implementing cost-saving measures.

The Blue House released details of the execution of special activity funds, business promotion expenses, and specific task expenses for the period from September to December on its official website. This marks the second time the Blue House has disclosed information on the execution of major state operation expenses such as special activity funds, following the first-ever release in September last year, demonstrating the Lee Jaemyung administration's strong commitment to executing taxpayers' money transparently and properly.

The Blue House is the only government agency to disclose the itemized execution details of the entire budget for special activity funds, business promotion expenses, and specific task expenses.

From September to December last year, 1,526 cases of special activity funds (2.92 billion won), 6,319 cases of business promotion expenses (2.67 billion won), and 2,354 cases of specific task expenses (410 million won) were executed.

The total amount returned to the national treasury reached 4.78 billion won, consisting of 740 million won in special activity funds, 3.34 billion won in business promotion expenses, and 700 million won in specific task expenses.

The Blue House stated, "By valuing the people's taxes as if they were our own and executing the national budget with care, we were able to reduce expenditures on special activity funds and other items," adding, "We will continue to ensure that the national budget is spent only where it is truly needed and only as much as necessary."
