Ansan City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 30th that it held the opening ceremony for the 'Wadong Education Library', which was built at 813-1 Wadong Park, Danwon-gu, and has begun its operations.

This library, with a total floor area of 4,427 square meters, is a specialized library themed around 'education'. The library provides a variety of multimedia content to support learning for all age groups. In particular, the library operates experiential content such as an AR experience zone and a reading bot, allowing citizens to enjoy reading and learning in a more engaging way.
Inside the library, a 'makerspace' has been established to support citizens' creative activities. Here, digital equipment such as UV printers, laser engravers, and 3D pens, as well as various tools like sewing machines and computerized embroidery machines, are available to help turn ideas into tangible results. The library also plans to run creativity enhancement programs in collaboration with related organizations and companies.
Traditional library services such as book lending and returns will continue to be provided, and any Ansan citizen can become a member. Existing members of Ansan City libraries can use the services without any additional procedures.
Lee Minguen, Mayor of Ansan, stated, "Wadong Education Library will go beyond being a space for simply reading books and become an open learning center where the community and residents can learn and grow together." He added, "We will operate this space with substance so that it can become a cultural hub for the region in the future."
