Prior to the workshop, a special lecture was delivered by instructor Lee Ruda on "Goheung-Style Tourism Administration Strategies Based on Overseas Tourism Cases and Trends." Focusing on examples from Portugal, the session shared insights on shifting tourism perceptions and establishing a Goheung-style hospitality mindset for visitors.
During the workshop, practical discussions centered on this year's tourism policy directions and core projects. Key issues reviewed included support for individual tourist incentives, promotion of railway travel products, enhancement of flagship festival content, discovery of tourism resources in towns, and improvement of tourism facility environments. Interdepartmental collaboration methods were also discussed.
An official from the county's tourism policy office stated, "This workshop has become an opportunity to organically connect tourism policy with on-site work. We will continue to improve policy completeness by actively reflecting field opinions and pursue tourism administration that both visitors and residents can truly experience."
Meanwhile, Goheung County plans to strengthen its tourism competitiveness with the goal of reaching 10 million visitors by 2028. This will be achieved by developing tourism content and expanding stay-type tourism infrastructure through initiatives such as the local gift certificate refund policy for major tourist site admission fees, the operation of the Space Railway 999 travel product, support for tourist incentives, branding of the Blue Marine bicycle travel product, and the creation of a sustainable tourism environment in Goheung.
