"Judging only by edited clips... No intention to mock"

On January 29, Shuka posted a lengthy message on the community board of his YouTube channel "Shuka World," stating, "I should be used to this by now, but it never gets easy," and added, "Until now, I haven't responded to edited videos or criticism, but seeing it reported in a reputable newspaper is truly disheartening."

He continued, "Those who have watched Shuka World or Moneycomics for a long time know well whether I have been someone who mocks and criticizes government policies or someone who promotes and supports them." Regarding the recent controversial broadcast clip, he explained, "The scenes featured in the article are from stock market entertainment segments," and added, "If you watch the entire segment, it's easy to see that it is not intended to be mocking." He further noted, "Most people judge based only on the edited content without watching the full broadcast."

Addressing controversy over political stance..."KOSPI 5000 is a remarkable achievement"

He also drew a clear line regarding the controversy over his political stance. Shuka emphasized, "I do not focus on or mention politics or ideological leanings," and added, "As a broadcaster, I strive to maintain the principle of not taking sides."

He cited his belief in "journalism" as the background for this principle. Shuka stated, "I have tried to celebrate and widely share good policies and achievements, and to speak up when I thought there were problems," adding, "As a result, I have been criticized for being left-leaning and right-leaning at the same time."

He continued, "There have been many times when no matter how much I explained something wasn't true, it was of no use, and I have received countless pieces of advice to just take a side," but added, "I couldn't do that because I believed myself to be a journalist."

Shuka confessed, "It pains me to see articles that contradict what I usually say and to be the subject of harsh criticism," and added, "It's hard to hide my deep sense of frustration and helplessness."

Finally, he made his position clear regarding the KOSPI surpassing the 5000 mark. Shuka said, "KOSPI 5000 is truly an incredible achievement, and it deserves to be praised a hundred times over," adding, "It would be great if it could go even higher in the future."

Previously, during the last presidential election, Shuka appeared on the YouTube channel "Moneycomics" and made remarks with an ironic tone about President Lee Jaemyung's "KOSPI 5000" pledge, essentially suggesting it was unrealistic. At the time, it was received as satirical entertainment, but after President Lee took office and the KOSPI surpassed the 5000 mark for the first time in history about seven months later, the video resurfaced and sparked controversy.
