The Yeoncheon County Rural Basic Income Committee is an official deliberative body established and operated based on the "Yeoncheon County Rural Basic Income Payment Ordinance" (enacted, promulgated, and enforced on December 11, 2025). The committee was set up to deliberate or advise on core matters such as the basic direction and objectives of the rural basic income policy, basic and implementation plans, securing financial resources, as well as analysis and evaluation.

The committee consists of 15 members, including the county governor as chairperson, five ex officio members, and nine appointed members. The term runs from January 30, 2026, to December 31, 2027.

At the meeting, a total of four agenda items were submitted and discussed to enhance the effectiveness and field applicability of the rural basic income initiative. The committee also shared its operational direction and roles, and reorganized the implementation system to ensure the policy becomes a tangible benefit for county residents.

Going forward, Yeoncheon County plans to broadly gather field opinions and address potential issues that may arise during the project’s implementation in order to enhance the policy’s effectiveness and public acceptance.

Kim Dukhyun, the county governor and committee chairperson, stated, "Rural basic income is a crucial policy that can enhance the sustainability of rural areas and contribute to the stability of residents’ lives. We will actively incorporate the diverse opinions presented in the committee to ensure fair operations, field-oriented improvements, transparent financial management, and objective performance checks."

Yeoncheon County will continue to monitor the progress of the policy through the committee, and will promptly discuss and incorporate necessary institutional improvements and supplementary measures to ensure stable project operation.
