The Federation of Korean Industries (hereinafter referred to as FKI) announced on January 29 that it has established a Growth Strategy Office and a Job Task Force (TF), and has expanded and reorganized its International Headquarters.
The newly established Growth Strategy Office will oversee the "New K-Industry" initiatives, which are expected to become new pillars of growth for the Korean economy, including artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, and digital transformation. The office aims to contribute to innovation and the expansion of future growth engines by formulating a new growth strategy roadmap and preparing measures to strengthen the competitiveness of key industries.
A Job Task Force will also be launched. With the employment conditions for young people worsening-such as the number of young people in their 20s and 30s who are not working reaching 710,000-the TF plans to actively support youth employment expansion by providing practical opportunities such as job fairs, as well as by strengthening policy research and proposal functions aimed at increasing youth employment.
To respond to rapidly changing trade dynamics and shifts in the global environment, the International Headquarters will be expanded from two teams to three. The strategy is to further strengthen strategic partnerships with major countries such as the United States and Japan, while also broadening cooperation with emerging markets including Europe and Africa, thereby enhancing the organization’s ability to respond to global trade environment changes.
FKI stated, "The year 2026 will mark the beginning of a major transformation, changing the structure of the Korean economy and presenting a new growth formula," adding, "With the spirit of serving the nation through business, we will join forces with the public, companies, and the government to achieve a new economic leap forward." The organizational restructuring will take effect from February 1.
