Incheon Airport Launches Mobile Real-Time Arrival Baggage Inquiry Service

Service Now Available for All Airlines at Terminal 1
Expansion to Terminal 2 Planned Through Collaboration with Customs

Incheon International Airport Corporation announced on January 29 that, starting from January 30, it will provide a 'real-time arrival baggage information inquiry service' for passengers arriving at Terminal 1 of Incheon Airport through the Incheon Airport mobile app, in collaboration with the Incheon Airport Headquarters Customs.

The two organizations have been working together to provide the public with a more efficient and convenient airport experience. Through digital cooperation such as information sharing, they have expanded the baggage inquiry service-which was previously available only for departing baggage at Incheon Airport-to include arriving baggage as well.

Additionally, the service, which was previously operated only by certain airlines, has now been expanded to cover all 68 airlines operating at Terminal 1, which is expected to significantly enhance convenience for more passengers.

When the customs office provides baggage information to the corporation's system, the corporation will inform passengers in real time-via a dedicated app-of the time when their arriving baggage begins to appear and the entire process.

Passengers who wish to use the service can install the 'Incheon Airport+ App' from Google Play Store or the App Store and either scan or manually enter the baggage tag issued by their airline.

With the introduction of this service, passengers will be able to check the estimated time for baggage collection in real time and quickly confirm whether their baggage has arrived properly, which is expected to reduce unnecessary waiting times.

The two organizations plan to continue their cooperation through the second half of this year, with the goal of expanding the service to passengers using Terminal 2 as well.

Park Heon, Head of Incheon Airport Headquarters Customs, stated, "The opening of data through this collaboration will provide great convenience for the public," and added, "We will continue to actively improve public services by utilizing customs big data."

Lee Hakjae, President of Incheon International Airport Corporation, said, "Going forward, we will continue to prioritize passenger convenience and work with related organizations to develop services that enhance the customer experience in various ways."
