Gyeonggi Province to Offer Jeonse Fraud Prevention Education... Recruiting Instructors Until February 5

The Gyeonggi Provincial Government has announced that it will operate the "Jeonse Fraud Prevention Academy" and is recruiting professional instructors for the program until February 5.

Applicants must have at least three years of practical experience as a licensed real estate agent and must not have any record of administrative sanctions within the past three years. Detailed application guidelines can be found in the announcement posted on the Gyeonggi Provincial Government website, and applications should be submitted via email within the deadline.

The Jeonse Fraud Prevention Academy is a program designed to enhance the real estate transaction capabilities of residents by enabling them to recognize risks and protect themselves at every stage before signing a real estate contract, with the goal of stabilizing the market.

Before launching the academy, the Gyeonggi Provincial Government will select 20 field experts with extensive practical experience, professional ethics, and teaching ability as the "Jeonse Fraud Prevention Academy Instructor Group" as the first step.

The selected instructors will be assigned to five regions within the province and will provide real estate transaction education wherever there is demand, including schools, youth spaces, corporate training centers, and public institutions.

The Gyeonggi Provincial Government also plans to develop a standard textbook to ensure consistency in education, as well as various educational materials such as videos to increase participant engagement.

In addition, the program will offer customized education by segmenting the target audience based on their characteristics and environment, including high school students, university students, young adults new to society, and other residents.

To improve accessibility for residents who have difficulty attending offline sessions, five video education materials will also be produced.

Son Imsung, Director of Urban Housing at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government, stated, "Operating the Jeonse Fraud Prevention Academy will not only help prevent jeonse fraud but also serve as a turning point to restore stability and trust in the overall real estate market. We hope to see many qualified experts apply."

Last year, there were 2,497 reported cases of jeonse fraud in the province, with an average of about 200 cases per month. Most victims are concentrated among young people under the age of 40, highlighting the growing need for preventive education.
