On January 28, an obituary was posted in the community section of the Yoobyungjangsu girl YouTube channel, stating, "Jangsu girl has become a star in the sky after a long battle with illness."

Her boyfriend wrote, "When she began her uncertain fight against illness, starting the YouTube channel was something we decided to try together. It ended up receiving so much love from so many people, and your warm support truly gave her great strength. I sincerely thank everyone who loved the Yoobyungjangsu girl channel."

He concluded, "I hope she can now rest peacefully without pain. My deepest condolences."

With around 200,000 subscribers, Yoobyungjangsu girl had been sharing videos about her journey battling cancer and her daily life since 2022. Born in 1997, she was diagnosed with stage 4 clear cell renal cell carcinoma, a rare type of cancer. Despite undergoing a difficult treatment process, she conveyed a positive message with a calm and bright demeanor, receiving encouragement from her subscribers.

Even after being admitted to a hospice ward last year, she communicated with her subscribers by releasing a video unboxing the 'Silver Button' she received from YouTube. In November last year, she updated her viewers, saying, "The pain became so severe that I underwent a procedure for a patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) device. The procedure failed and the fluid is leaking, but I will try to wait it out. The weather suddenly became very cold, so please dress warmly and I'll see you in the next video." However, this video became her final post.

Upon hearing the news of her passing, online users left messages mourning her, such as "I hope you are no longer in pain and are happy where you are," "You were a beacon of hope for other patients," "You lived your life to the fullest until the very end. You were truly admirable," and "I pray you rest in a better place."
