'We Are the One' Workshop Enhances Job Communication
Appointment of DSU Youth Hope Mentoring Group and Sharing of Project Achievements
Dongseo University (President Jang Jeguk) held its 'Homecoming Day,' an event designed to foster connections and mentoring between alumni and current students.
Dongseo University announced on January 28 that it hosted the '2025 DSU Homecoming Day - We Are the One: Student and Alumni Mentoring Workshop' at Avani Central Busan Hotel on January 23. The event aimed to help students with career planning and strengthen their employment capabilities.
The event was organized to share the annual achievements of the university’s Student and Career Support Office and to systematize the DSU Youth Hope Mentoring Group, an alumni network, in order to provide students with practical on-site job knowledge.
Approximately 130 participants attended, including current students, alumni mentors, faculty advisors, and representatives from related organizations inside and outside the university. The program included a report on Dongseo University’s 2025 career and employment support achievements, appointment of DSU Youth Hope Mentoring Group mentors, presentations of outstanding career and employment support program cases, and a student-alumni mentoring session.
At the highlight of the event, the appointment ceremony for the DSU Youth Hope Mentoring Group, graduates who are actively working in their respective fields were appointed as mentors. They will serve as key human resources, supporting younger students in career planning and job preparation.
This event also featured the 'We Are the One' mentoring program, conducted in collaboration with Dong-A University as part of the 'Glocal University 30' initiative. Current students had the opportunity to communicate directly with alumni working in the field, gaining a deeper understanding of job roles and receiving practical advice on career management.
Jung Dowoon, Director of Student and Career Support at Dongseo University, stated, "This workshop not only shared the university’s achievements in employment support, but also strengthened the connection between alumni and current students through the Youth Hope Mentoring Group. We will continue to enhance our student-tailored support system in collaboration with local organizations, centered around the University Job Plus Center."
Dongseo University plans to connect these mentoring activities with online communities and various follow-up programs, aiming to build a sustainable network between students and alumni and to foster talent that will contribute to the local community.
