RISE 4-5 Performance Workshop Held
Discussions on Expanding University and Local Government Cooperation
Sunmoon University has unveiled a university-local government cooperation model to support the settlement of foreign residents and international students in the region, sharing the achievements of the RISE project and aiming to spread collaborative models.
On January 27, Sunmoon University announced that it held the "RISE 4-5 Basic Local Government-University Agreement-Based Autonomous Regional Issue Resolution Project Performance Sharing and Dissemination Workshop" at the Onyang Tourist Hotel.
This event was organized to share the outcomes of initiatives aimed at facilitating the stable settlement of foreign residents and international students, and to strengthen the collaborative network among participating institutions.
More than 40 participants attended the workshop, including representatives from Asan City, the Chungnam RISE Center, the Chungnam Foreigners Global Center, local universities, and related organizations.
Sunmoon University introduced key achievements such as the establishment of an educational platform for foreign residents and the completion of the development of an information portal for foreign residents.
The university also shared examples of building an integrated support system that provides educational, daily life, and administrative information.
On the same day, Soonchunhyang University, U1 University, and Hoseo University presented their operational achievements and field case studies.
During the comprehensive discussion, participants discussed improvement tasks for the next year's projects and ways to link them with policies, and a consensus was formed on the need for continued cooperation between universities and local governments to create foreigner-friendly cities.
Choi Jaeseong, Director of International Affairs at Sunmoon University, said, "This event is an opportunity to share the achievements in supporting the settlement of foreigners accumulated through the RISE project with the local community," adding, "We will strengthen an effective settlement support system through joint efforts between universities and local governments."
Meanwhile, the RISE 4-5 project is being promoted with the goal of establishing a support model that covers the overall education, daily life, and settlement of foreign residents and international students.
