Bupyeong District in Incheon will extend the grace period for parking and stopping enforcement during lunchtime by 30 minutes starting February 1.
The district will expand the current grace period, which is in effect from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., to now run from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
However, the grace period will not apply to all locations. The district will exclude from the grace period the following six major areas where illegal parking and stopping are strictly prohibited: children's protection zones, intersections and corners, crosswalks, bus stops, fire facilities, and sidewalks. In addition, any area where parked vehicles significantly disrupt traffic flow will also be excluded, in order to prevent indiscriminate illegal parking.
A Bupyeong District official stated, "By extending the grace period for parking and stopping enforcement, we hope to support both visitors to local businesses and small business owners during lunchtime. In areas where illegal parking and stopping cause inconvenience to pedestrians or drivers, we will conduct guidance activities to minimize inconvenience for residents."
