Recently, Swiss daily 20 Minuten and other outlets reported that “the use of adult service platforms and requests for prostitution increased by dozens of times during the Davos Forum compared to usual.” Prostitution is legal in Switzerland, and this year’s Davos Forum was held from January 19 to 23.

A 4000% Surge in Bookings on Adult Meeting Platforms During the Event

Titt4Tat, a Swiss adult meeting platform that connects sex workers and clients, announced that booking requests soared during the week of the Davos Forum. On average, there are about two bookings per day in the Davos area annually, but on January 19, the opening day of the forum, 79 requests were received. The number of platform users in the Davos area has also increased by more than 4000% over the past year.

The platform explained that most of the sex workers registered with them are students, teachers, and travelers who participate for additional income, distinguishing them from full-time sex workers.

This year, in particular, there was a notable influx of users from the United States, Russia, and Ukraine, coinciding with the Davos Forum. Additionally, internal statistics revealed that in 2026, there was a significant increase in demand for Black women. Although the application does not offer a race selection feature, the platform stated that this trend was evident in user activity data.

According to booking records on the platform, the most expensive reservation involved meetings with five women over four days, totaling 96,000 Swiss francs (approximately 178.44 million won). This amount did not include additional expenses such as accommodation, gifts, or chauffeur services. One Titt4Tat user reported being offered an executive-level position after meeting with a company owner, while other users experienced trips to Dubai by private jet, shopping in Paris, and stays at luxury vacation villas, according to the platform.

Prostitution Controversy at the 2020 Event

Controversy surrounding prostitution during the Davos Forum has arisen in the past as well. In 2020, The Times of the United Kingdom reported that prostitution was rampant in Davos during the forum. At that time, Swiss police identified at least 100 sex workers operating during the event. At an event hosted by the Russian government’s sovereign wealth fund, the Russian Direct Investment Fund, eight models were reportedly hired as hostesses for 500 pounds (approximately 990,000 won) each.

Founded in 1971, the Davos Forum is an annual gathering where top experts and world leaders convene in Davos every January to discuss urgent issues and seek solutions. This year’s event was attended by about 3,000 politicians and business leaders from over 130 countries, including U.S. President Donald Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The 2026 Davos Forum was held under the theme “A Spirit of Dialogue.”
