Chinese International Student Arrested for Threatening Girlfriend with Weapon During Argument

A Chinese international student in his 30s was apprehended by the police after threatening his girlfriend with a weapon during an argument.

On January 27, Seoul Gangbuk Police Station announced that it had booked a 32-year-old Chinese national student, identified as A, without detention on charges of special intimidation.

According to the police, on the afternoon of January 19, A is suspected of threatening or injuring himself with a weapon during an argument with his girlfriend, B, who is in her 20s, at an officetel in Gangbuk-gu, Seoul.

The police, responding to a report from the victim, arrested A at the scene as a flagrant offender.

A police official stated, "We plan to refer the case to the prosecution soon."
