Reporting County Achievements Across Townships and Towns
Strengthening Communication with Residents
Cheongdo County (Governor Kim Hasu) held the "2026 Township and Town Administration Briefing" from January 19 to 23, 2026, to share the achievements of county administration and explain the future direction of county governance for the upcoming Byeongo Year.
This briefing tour began in Maejun-myeon on January 19, followed by Cheongdo-eup and Hwayang-eup on January 20, Geumcheon-myeon and Unmun-myeon on January 21, Punggak-myeon and Gakbuk-myeon on January 22, and Gaknam-myeon and Iseo-myeon on January 23, covering all nine townships and towns in sequence.
The event included a promotional video on county administration, donation ceremonies for scholarship funds and senior welfare funds, presentations of plaques of appreciation to retiring village heads and badges to new village heads, key issue reports for each township and town, an overview of major county initiatives for 2026, and a discussion of current issues.
During the briefing, the achievements of the civilian-led county administration and major policy outcomes directly affecting residents' lives were explained in detail.
Cheongdo County announced that, as a result of its strategic response to public project competitions and securing national and provincial funds, it has entered the era of a 750 billion won main budget for 2026. Based on this, the county is driving changes that residents can feel in the expansion of living infrastructure, welfare and care services, and across agriculture and tourism.
In the area of daily life, the county reported on the expansion of convenience infrastructure such as the creation of a children's water playground, the Cheongdo Imagination Maru, and additional sports facilities in each township and town. It also highlighted the achievements of resident-focused policies, including the operation of a rapid response team for civil complaints, free public transportation for seniors, and the expansion of medical and care services.
In agriculture, the establishment of an Innovative Agriculture Town and the operation of a foreign seasonal worker program contributed to increased farm income and alleviated labor shortages. Achievements in culture, tourism, and lifelong learning policies were also shared, emphasizing their role in revitalizing the region and strengthening residents' capabilities.
Cheongdo County stated that this briefing was not only to share administrative achievements, but also to listen directly to residents' opinions and suggestions, which will be actively reflected in future county governance.
Immediately after the briefing, officials visited senior centers in each township and town to personally deliver New Year's greetings to local seniors and listen to their concerns about everyday inconveniences, fostering direct communication on-site.
Kim Hasu, Governor of Cheongdo County, said, "County administration can only find the right direction when we walk together, guided by the voices of our residents. Going forward, I will continue to use the voices of our residents as the standard for county governance, staying close to the community and paying even more careful attention to the realities of daily life."
