"The Tribe" is a work that humorously depicts the journey of characters as they reveal their truths and discover their own ways of life through laughter, song, and dance, all set against the unique premise: "The moment you lie, an ancient tribe appears." It was first presented as a graduation showcase for the Music Theatre Creative Cooperation Program at Korea National University of Arts in 2021, selected for the 2022 Korea Arts Council’s Performing Arts Creation Support musical script competition, then went through a reading workshop with the Seoul Metropolitan Musical Theatre in 2023, and finally premiered as a regular performance in 2024.

The Seoul Metropolitan Musical Theatre plans to present the rerun of "The Tribe" from June 9 to 27 at the Sejong Center M Theater.

For the rerun, the performance venue will move from the previous Sejong S Theater to the medium-sized Sejong M Theater, offering audiences a larger scale and more dynamic stage production.

The audition will be used to cast the roles of the ancient tribe in the musical. The ancient tribe represents the souls residing in ancient relics, appearing each time a lie is told and serving as a mirror reflecting the inner selves of the characters.

The Seoul Metropolitan Musical Theatre also announced plans to further enhance the quality of the production by bringing in new creative staff. Writer Jeon Dongmin and composer Lim Narae, who participated in the premiere, will collaborate again, and director Pyo Sangah and choreographer Chae Hyunwon, who worked on last year’s premiere of the Seoul Metropolitan Musical Theatre’s "A Christmas Carol," will join as new members of the creative team.
