LIV Golf Member Reed Claims First European Tour Victory in Six Years

Hero Dubai Desert Classic: Reed Wins by Four Strokes
Fourth DP World Tour Victory, Earns $1.64 Million Prize
Sullivan Finishes Second; McIlroy and Hatton Share 33rd Place

Patrick Reed of the United States, a member of LIV Golf, claimed victory on the DP World Tour.


On January 25 (local time), at the Emirates Golf Club (par 72, 7,439 yards) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Reed carded two birdies and two bogeys in the fourth round of the Hero Dubai Desert Classic (total prize money of 9 million dollars). Finishing with an even-par 72, Reed secured the win with a final total of 14-under-par 274. This marks his fourth career victory and his first in six years since winning the WGC Mexico Championship in February 2020. The winner's prize is 1,638,000 dollars (approximately 2.4 billion KRW).

Reed started the final round with a four-shot lead but had a shaky beginning with a bogey on the 4th hole (par 3). After making up for a birdie on the 10th hole (par 5) with a bogey on the 11th (par 3), he regained his lost stroke with a birdie on the 13th (par 5). He finished the remaining five holes with pars to secure the championship trophy.


Andy Sullivan of England shot one under par to finish second (10-under-par 278). Viktor Hovland of Norway tied for 14th (5-under-par 283), while Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland and Tyrrell Hatton of England shared 33rd place (2-under-par 286). Tommy Fleetwood of England, ranked third in the world and the defending champion, tied for 41st (1-under-par 287). Lee Junghwan missed the cut.
