According to the revised regulations, the maximum parking time for externally chargeable hybrid vehicles in slow-charging zones will be reduced from the previous 14 hours to 7 hours. However, the parking time for standard electric vehicles will remain unchanged at up to 14 hours.
In addition, the criteria for imposing fines for parking violations in charging zones within apartment complexes will be expanded. Previously, the regulations applied only to apartment complexes with 500 or more units equipped with slow-charging facilities, but from now on, complexes with 100 or more units will also be subject to enforcement.
If the designated parking time is exceeded in either slow or fast charging zones, a fine of 100,000 won will be imposed. Violations can be reported by citizens through the “Safety Sinmungo” app.
Yangju City emphasized that electric vehicle charging facilities are public infrastructure meant to be shared by all citizens, highlighting the need to comply with usage standards and to establish a mature parking culture. The city also urged owners of electric vehicles and externally chargeable hybrid vehicles to familiarize themselves with the revised parking standards in advance to avoid any disadvantages.
