Communicating with Citizens through "Mokpo, I Love You"
Kang Seonghui, Deputy Policy Committee Chair of the Democratic Party of Korea in Mokpo and a prospective candidate for Mokpo Mayor, will hold a publication celebration on January 31 at 2 p.m. on the second floor of the Emerald Wedding Hall in Mokpo.
This publication event has been organized so that Kang can share with citizens the results of his journey since first stepping into politics at the age of twenty-nine, compiling what he has seen and learned in the field into a single book.
The book, titled "Kang Seonghui's Mokpo, I Love You (MOKPOLOVE)," goes beyond personal reflection to express affection and introspection about the years spent walking alongside the city of Mokpo.
Rather than offering definitive answers, Kang invites citizens to reflect on the path taken and to consider together how to shape the future. The publication celebration will not be a one-sided event, but a forum for open dialogue about the present and future of Mokpo.
Kang stated, "This book is a personal record, but also a chronicle of the years spent together with the city of Mokpo," adding, "Through this publication celebration, I hope to have deeper conversations with citizens and create more meaningful moments."
Anyone, including local figures and citizens, is welcome to attend this publication celebration.
Meanwhile, on December 23 of last year, Kang held a press conference at Mokpo City Council to officially announce his candidacy for Mokpo Mayor. At that time, he emphasized, "Mokpo can no longer endure with mere management," and stressed, "A transformation on the scale of a second opening of the port, centered on an energy transition, is needed."
