Reduces Fumes and Prevents Safety Accidents
Enhances Franchise Owner Job Satisfaction
On January 23, bhc, the chicken brand under Dining Brands Group, announced that it has expanded the number of stores equipped with its advanced frying robot 'Twibot' to 40 locations nationwide.
'Twibot' is an automated frying robot for cooking, co-developed by bhc and Bear Robotics, a subsidiary of LG Electronics. Once battered chicken is placed into the machine, it automatically performs the entire process from tray movement to frying and oil draining. In particular, it precisely replicates the most challenging "shaking" step during cooking, maintaining the same crispiness and juiciness as chicken prepared by hand.
bhc is actively encouraging the adoption of Twibot to achieve "standardization of taste" and "mutual growth with franchisees." Because Twibot controls time and temperature according to a set manual, it ensures consistent flavor across all stores, regardless of who is cooking. Additionally, by automating repetitive frying work, franchise owners can focus on other tasks such as packaging and customer service, thereby maximizing operational efficiency.
The robot also significantly improves the kitchen environment. Twibot is equipped with an integrated hood and safety door that block fumes and heat generated during cooking. Analysis of stores where Twibot has been introduced shows a meaningful reduction in the concentration of pollutants in the kitchen. As a result, it helps reduce air conditioning costs in the summer and significantly lowers the risk of burns and physical fatigue for kitchen staff, thereby increasing job satisfaction.
Thanks to these advantages, Twibot is emerging as a new alternative for franchise owners struggling with labor shortages and rising labor costs. bhc currently operates a dedicated department to support and manage Twibot operations, helping franchisees adopt the system smoothly, and is actively holding demonstration events for prospective entrepreneurs. As more positive case studies accumulate from stores using Twibot, bhc plans to continue expanding its implementation in the future.
A bhc representative stated, "'Twibot' is more than just a machine; it is a reliable partner that addresses the challenges of hiring staff and safety concerns faced by franchise owners. Moving forward, we will continue to actively leverage food tech technology to improve operational convenience for our franchisees and establish ourselves as a brand that consistently delivers the best taste to customers."
