[Market Focus] Suprema Surges on Expectations as Key Security Partner in Hyundai Motor Robotics Ecosystem

As of 9:03 a.m. on January 23, Suprema was trading at 46,050 won, up 29.90% (10,600 won) from the previous day, hitting the upper price limit. The stock also reached a new 52-week high.

Investor sentiment was boosted by analysis suggesting that the company is poised to become a key security partner for Hyundai Motor’s rapidly rising robotics-related affiliates.

Kim Hyungyeom, a researcher at KB Securities, stated, "Since signing a strategic memorandum of understanding with Hyundai Motor and Kia Robotics Lab in March last year, Suprema has been leading the construction of robot-friendly buildings utilizing 'Atlas' and 'MobED.' By establishing the standard for an 'unmanned security platform' that can simultaneously identify and control both humans and robots, the company is expected to secure a unique position in the next-generation infrastructure market where artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics converge."

Suprema’s consolidated sales last year are expected to reach a record high of 140.1 billion won (up 29.5% year-on-year), with operating profit at 32.9 billion won (up 41.2%). The company’s growth was supported by improved profitability in biometric solutions driven by strong flagship smartphone sales and the initiation of large-scale projects in North America. This year, sales are projected to reach 175.1 billion won (up 25.0%), with operating profit at 45.0 billion won (up 36.9%), continuing its high growth trajectory.

Researcher Kim added, "Suprema is urgently pursuing internalization of AI camera technology-either through mergers and acquisitions or in-house development-as a key task for its leap toward an 'AI-integrated control platform.' This is expected to serve as a core momentum for the company’s transformation into a high-value-added solutions provider, moving beyond simple hardware."
