Personalized Health Management Using Smart Devices
Jindo County, South Jeolla Province, announced that it is recruiting 55 participants on a first-come, first-served basis for the "2026 Mobile Healthcare 1st Cohort" program, aimed at helping residents develop healthy lifestyle habits.
According to the county, the mobile healthcare program provides personalized health management based on health data collected through participants' smartphone apps and activity trackers (smartwatches), with coordinators, nurses, nutritionists, and exercise specialists from the public health center involved in the process.
The county public health center will conduct initial health screenings in February, followed by six months of counseling and information provision in the areas of nutrition, physical activity, and health management starting in March.
The program is open to county residents or employees working in the county aged 20 to 64 who have health risk factors such as high blood pressure, high blood sugar, high triglycerides, or high cholesterol. However, those who have been diagnosed with hypertension, diabetes, or hyperlipidemia, or are currently taking related medications, are excluded from eligibility.
Participants will be provided with an activity tracker and receive three free health check-ups, along with personalized health counseling in various areas over a 24-week period. In addition, health challenges (missions) will be assigned to encourage the formation of healthy habits, and incentives will be given to those who complete them.
A county official stated, "The purpose of the program is to help residents recognize their own health status and practice health management in their daily lives," adding, "We will strive to prevent chronic diseases and improve overall health levels through personalized health management services."
