This agreement was promoted to realize public value and strengthen brand image by having the local government and the military work together, centered on the symbolic significance of the historical figure Jeong Yak-yong. The two organizations pledged to cooperate in various areas, including cultural exchange, education on public integrity, and the operation of citizen-participatory security programs.

The city noted that the Dasan Jeong Yak-yong ship serves as a nationwide symbolic platform as the Navy's next-generation Aegis destroyer and plans to use this to expand the 'Dasan Jeong Yak-yong brand' across the country. In addition, the Navy will solidify its image as the 'People's Navy, Certain Victory' through exchange activities between citizens and naval personnel.

The signing ceremony was attended by Joo Kwangdeok, Mayor of Namyangju City, Captain Koo Boncheol of the Dasan Jeong Yak-yong ship, and about 20 officials from both the city and the Navy. Key points of the agreement include the joint use of Dasan brand assets, operation of civilian-military exchange programs, and cooperation on maritime and security education.

After the ceremony, Navy officials participated in the 'Public Integrity Training' program, which included a visit to Jeong Yak-yong's tomb, a special lecture on Dasan's philosophy, tours of Gungjip and the Jeong Yak-yong Fun Ground, and a traditional tea ceremony experience, allowing them to directly engage with the spirit of Jeong Yak-yong.

With this agreement, the city plans to support public value education for Navy personnel, while the Navy will operate base tours and security education programs for citizens, thereby establishing a sustainable foundation for ongoing mutual exchange.

Meanwhile, the Dasan Jeong Yak-yong ship is scheduled to be officially delivered to the Navy in December 2026, and the city plans to establish an official sisterhood relationship with the Navy at that time.
