Hwaseong City Opens 'Gubongsan Multipurpose Gymnasium' in Byeongjeom-dong

Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 22nd that it has officially opened the 'Gubongsan Multipurpose Gymnasium,' which was constructed within Gubongsan Neighborhood Park in Byeongjeom-dong.

The gymnasium was built with one basement level and two above-ground floors, covering a total floor area of 1,287 square meters. It is equipped with facilities such as a badminton court, basketball and volleyball courts, and a group exercise room (GX room).

Previously, the city temporarily opened the gymnasium for a trial run in September last year. Following the official opening, the city plans to operate the gymnasium mainly with community sports programs for residents.

At the opening ceremony held on the 21st, approximately 150 people attended, including Jeong Myung-geun, Mayor of Hwaseong, Bae Jeong-su, Chairperson of the City Council, city and provincial council members, officials from the city sports association, and local residents.

Mayor Jeong Myung-geun stated, "The Gubongsan Multipurpose Gymnasium is a space created so that every citizen can enjoy sports activities close to home," adding, "I hope it will become a place of unity where neighbors come together to restore both body and mind."
