National Tax Service Approves Minimum Number of Successful Candidates and Implementation Plan for the 63rd Certified Tax Accountant Exam
This year, the minimum number of successful candidates for the certified tax accountant exam has been set at 700. The first round of the exam will be held on April 25.
The National Tax Service announced on January 22 that it held the Certified Tax Accountant Qualification Review Committee and deliberated and approved the minimum number of successful candidates and the implementation plan for the 63rd Certified Tax Accountant Examination in 2026.
The minimum number of successful candidates for the 2026 Certified Tax Accountant Exam has been set at 700, taking into comprehensive consideration the balance of supply and demand for tax accountants. The minimum number is calculated based on general applicants who take all subjects in the second round (two subjects in tax law and two subjects in accounting). The actual number of successful candidates may exceed the minimum depending on the grading results.
This year, the first round of the certified tax accountant exam will be held on April 25, and the second round will take place on July 18 in Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Gwangju, Daejeon, and Incheon. Applications can only be submitted online through the National Qualification Exam website operated by the Korea Industrial Human Resources Corporation.
An official from the National Tax Service stated, "Since the application periods for the first and second rounds are different, those who wish to take only the second round must apply during the second round application period in order to be eligible. Detailed information will be announced on the National Qualification Exam website."
