Revenue Reaches 13.93 Trillion Won
Operating Profit Grows by 5%
Samsung SDS announced in a disclosure on January 22 that, on a consolidated basis, its provisional operating profit for last year was 957.1 billion won and revenue was 13.9299 trillion won, representing increases of 5% and 0.7%, respectively, compared to the previous year.
In the fourth quarter, operating profit reached 226.1 billion won, up 6.9% from the same period a year earlier. During the same period, revenue and net profit were 3.5368 trillion won and 187.9 billion won, respectively.
By business segment, annual revenue from the IT services division grew 2.2% year-on-year to 6.5435 trillion won. The cloud business led the growth of the IT services division, posting a 15.4% increase to 2.6802 trillion won in revenue.
Within the cloud business, the CSP (Cloud Service Provider) segment saw annual revenue growth driven by increased usage of SCP (Samsung Cloud Platform) and GPUaaS (Graphics Processing Unit as a Service) due to the expansion of generative AI services, the expansion of high-performance computing (HPC) services, and the growth of cloud network services.
Meanwhile, the MSP (Managed Service Provider) segment boosted revenue through cloud migration in the financial sector, securing generative AI service contracts in the public sector, and expanding global solution-based businesses such as ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and SCM (Supply Chain Management).
In the logistics segment, annual revenue declined 0.5% to 7.3864 trillion won, and operating profit fell 6.2% to 130 billion won, as maritime freight rates continued to decrease.
The digital logistics platform Cellosquare saw its number of registered customers increase by 27% year-on-year, with 24,625 companies actively using the service as of the end of last year.
Samsung SDS plans to continue expanding its AI and cloud businesses and strengthening its competitiveness, leveraging its "AI full stack" capabilities encompassing AI infrastructure, platforms, and solutions.
In the AI infrastructure domain, the company plans to launch a GPUaaS product based on the latest NVIDIA B300, in response to rising demand for graphics processing units and data centers, and to pursue the highly scalable DBO (Data Center Design, Build, and Operation) business.
Additionally, Samsung SDS will focus on public disaster recovery (DR) projects based at the Daegu Center, while providing industry-specific services to enhance the competitiveness of SCP.
In the AI platform area, the company aims to support the adoption and expansion of generative AI among enterprise customers across various industries, leveraging the ChatGPT Enterprise Reseller Partnership agreement signed with OpenAI in December last year-the first such agreement among domestic companies.
In the AI solutions area, Samsung SDS plans to further roll out its collaboration solution Brity Works and generative AI service Brity Copilot-which have been provided on a pilot basis to three government agencies (the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Science and ICT, and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety) since November last year-to 57 central government ministries.
In the logistics business, the company will further strengthen its air logistics and contract logistics operations, while applying AI-based automation technologies to operational work and warehouse management.
Meanwhile, to enhance shareholder value and increase shareholder returns, Samsung SDS's board of directors has resolved to raise the dividend by 10% to 3,190 won per share. With this increase, the company now meets the criteria for high-dividend companies.
