[Market Focus] ILE Rises on Expectations to Lead Humanoid Market with Solid-State Battery Technology

ILE is showing strong performance. This is believed to be influenced by news that the company has developed battery technology applicable to humanoid robots. The key feature of this technology is that it structurally blocks the possibility of explosions and fires.

[Market Focus] ILE Rises on Expectations to Lead Humanoid Market with Solid-State Battery Technology

As of 10:20 a.m. on January 22, ILE was trading at 4,700 won, up 140 won (3.07%) from the previous trading day.

On the previous day, ILE announced that it had completed the development of an ultra-thin, highly stable lithium metal anode manufacturing technology optimized for small solid-state batteries used in humanoid robots, drones, wearables, and next-generation portable devices.

This technology suppresses the formation of dendrites-a phenomenon where lithium ions excessively deposit on the anode surface during charging, which has been cited as a problem during the charging and discharging process. It also enables the realization of high-energy-density anodes required for small solid-state batteries.

Humanoid robots and drones operate in spaces shared with humans or are used in high-density, high-output environments. Therefore, battery safety that structurally blocks the possibility of fire and explosion serves as a key criterion for adopting the technology.

ILE's ultra-thin lithium metal anode technology is designed to minimize the possibility of thermal runaway and internal short circuits by controlling the process and structural design stages of lithium metal. It is evaluated as a technology suitable for next-generation mobility and intelligent devices that require highly safe power sources.
