[Weather] Wind Chill Plummets... Snow and Rain in Jeolla and Jeju

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, as of 5 a.m., temperatures in major regions were as follows: Seoul -12.4°C, Incheon -12.1°C, Suwon -11.9°C, Chuncheon -16.4°C, Gangneung -9.6°C, Cheongju -11.4°C, Daejeon -11.7°C, Jeonju -9.5°C, Gwangju -7.1°C, Jeju 0.6°C, Daegu -8.0°C, Busan -6.8°C, Ulsan -7.6°C, and Changwon -6.6°C. Daytime temperatures are forecast to range from -8°C to 2°C. Strong winds will make it feel even colder, so extra care is needed for your health.

Snow or rain is expected, mainly in the Jeolla region and Jeju Island. The expected snowfall is 5 to 15 centimeters for Ulleungdo and Dokdo, 2 to 7 centimeters for the west coast of Jeolla and mountainous areas of Jeju Island, 1 to 5 centimeters for mid-mountain areas of Jeju, 1 to 3 centimeters for Gwangju, inland central Jeonnam, and the western southern coast, and around 1 centimeter for the coastal areas of Jeju. The expected precipitation is 5 to 15 millimeters for Ulleungdo and Dokdo, around 5 millimeters for Jeju Island, less than 5 millimeters for the west coast of Jeolla, and around 1 millimeter for Gwangju, inland central Jeonnam, and the western southern coast.

Fine dust concentrations are expected to be at 'good' levels nationwide due to smooth atmospheric dispersion.

Waves at sea will range from 1.0 to 3.5 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 3.0 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the South Sea. In the offshore areas (within approximately 200 kilometers from the coastline), wave heights will be 2.0 to 4.0 meters in the East Sea and 1.0 to 4.0 meters in both the West Sea and South Sea.
