On the 21st, Gyeonggi Provincial Library held the "Library Policy Governance Forum" for the first time since its opening, bringing together heads of city and county libraries as well as library policy officials.
This forum was organized to clarify the policy coordination and linkage functions that Gyeonggi Provincial Library, which opened in October last year, must fulfill as a metropolitan representative library, and to discuss the establishment of a collaborative system among various stakeholders involved in library policy.
During the forum, presentations and discussions were held on key topics, including: the design of governance models for metropolitan and public library policies; models for linking public and small libraries and strategies for qualitative growth; and measures to promote reading through the advancement of reading platforms.

In particular, one of the main agenda items was exploring ways to enhance public engagement by moving beyond individual projects at the city and county level to pursue policy integration and joint planning at the metropolitan level.
Gyeonggi Provincial Library plans to use this forum as an opportunity to strengthen its role as a metropolitan platform for planning, connecting, and disseminating library policies. The library intends to gradually expand cooperation among libraries within the province, as well as linkages with various policy areas such as culture, education, environment, and AI.
Yoon Myunghee, Director of Gyeonggi Provincial Library, stated, "This forum is the first official occasion for Gyeonggi Provincial Library to present its policies and initiate a collaborative network as a metropolitan representative library," adding, "We will continue to lay the foundation for library policy through ongoing communication and cooperation."
