Subsidy and Loan Applications Open Until January 28
Jindo County in South Jeolla Province is accepting applications for subsidy support programs and agricultural and fisheries startup and housing loan support programs until January 28 to help returning farmers, fishermen, and rural migrants settle stably.
According to the county on January 21, the subsidy support program targets returning farmers, fishermen, and rural migrants aged 65 or younger. A total of 51 recipients will be selected across six initiatives: support for outstanding startups, support for farmhouse repair costs, settlement support, support for young and middle-aged agricultural and fisheries entrepreneurs, provision of agricultural and fisheries materials, and moving cost support.
The loan support program, called the 'Startup and Housing Purchase Support Program for Returning Farmers and Fishermen,' offers low-interest loans at annual rates of 1.5% to 2%. Startup loans for agriculture and fisheries are available up to 300 million won, and housing loans are available up to 75 million won.
The final loan amount will be determined based on the applicant's business performance and the credit and collateral evaluation conducted by the lending institution. Those wishing to apply should submit an application form and required documents to the township or town office with jurisdiction over their address by January 28. Detailed information and eligibility requirements for each program can be found in the announcements section of the county office website.
A county official stated, "We are continuing to provide practical support so that returning farmers, fishermen, and rural migrants can settle stably in the region," and added, "We hope this support program will bring new vitality to the local community."
